Ryan was great from start to finish. Easy to make and/or change your appt, confirmed, texted when on their way, and they were always within the window provided. Their timeframe windows were 2hr windows, where other places I called were 4-6hrs--one was a 12 hour window which was absurd. They diagnosed the problem, replaced the part, and did a comprehensive check of overall system and parts to double check. The only thing I wish was that the diagnostic fee was included if you accepted and had had them fix the issue. I know some places do that, but just know it's not, but it was fine. I highly recommend them!

Our AC unit was shaking so hard it was going to tear itself apart. Another company said they recommended replacing the entire unit, but we balked at the price of that. We called Carter and Sons for a second opinion, and they were able to replace the motor the very next day for a fraction of the price of a new unit. Darrin was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and we wouldn’t hesitate to call them for future HVAC needs.

I like that they are local to Smyrna. When I called someone picked up promptly and was able to setup a convenient time for my maintenance appointment. The tech that was sent out was polite and knowledgeable and went through my system with me and provided a scorecard for how the system was. I will continue to use Carters and Sons for my HVAC Maintenance.

I was very impressed by Carter & Sons—set up an appointment online for the next business day, Zac came promptly and was very professional and courteous. I needed a maintenance service call on my two A/C units and he did that, clearly explained the state of my system and next steps. There were text messages to alert me prior to the appointment, including one with a picture of the technician, which I appreciated having ahead of time. I would absolutely recommend this company and will use them again when I need HVAC service. Very pleased!

My first appointment with Carter and Sons HVAC. Had appt originally scheduled for Monday. My wife and I were really burning up in our condo on Friday and my wife says "see if they can come today." I called C&S and spoke to Katie who was very friendly! Unbelievably, she worked us in on Friday between 3-5. I got home from work around 3 and waited and waited. Got to be 4:25 and I get a text from Zac saying he was on his way.
Zac got here right at 5. Very nice young man. We had a great chat while he worked on my unit. Turns out I just needed some refrigerant. Happy day! I am definitely happy I found C&S. I used Shumate for many years and they gave me great service, but I just felt like I wanted to try a new company. I know I found a great one! Thanks Zac and Katie for your great service, patience with all of my questions (Zac) and kind demeanor. I definitely recommend Carter & Sons!

Ain’t it always the way that your A/C decides to quit working right as it’s warming up outside? Carter & Sons literally saved our sanity by getting us back up and running after days of no air and getting up to 80 upstairs. They were available the day after I contacted them, were SO prompt (incredible!), and since the fix didn’t require any new parts, they only charged us for the visit out to our home and didn’t charge extra for our outdoor unit being on the roof. 10 out of 5 stars — we will be using them again.

March 2025: Carter and Sons installed a new Carrier system a few years ago. They did a great job at a very competitive price. They have serviced it twice a year since then. This visit was for a preseason tune-up. The tech arrived on time did their work efficiently, explained the bill, took my payment and left. So far, everything is working well. We appreciate their good work.

Our technician, Zac, arrived at our home promptly and conducted himself in a very professional manner. Not only did he diagnose the issue with our HVAC system, but he also efficiently fixed the problem, which turned out to be one of the dampers. Zac even provided us with a plan to replace the other dampers that will need replacing soon. His expertise and dedication truly make him an amazing technician and a fantastic representation of Carter & Sons. From Ryan's awesome service, to Dave's thorough work, and the entire staff, from installers to front desk and billing, we're communicative, friendly, and treated me like a community member, not just a customer.

The communication, timeliness, and pricing was great. Never felt pressured or like I was being upsold. Honestly good people, would definitely recommend and use them again.

Had a very friendly and helpful technician come out to inspect and clean my system.

On the negative side, I had issues receiving a quote for some duct work. Easily and quickly scheduled someone to come out and give us a quote to redo our ducting in the house, and a very guy came and looked it over. Its been about a month with multiple reminders and we still have not received our quote. Unfortunate since we really liked the guy who came out!
