Heating & AC Services in Smyrna, GA

6/30/26 I had to call C&S for an issue that as it turns out, they diagnosed a while back but I chose not to address at that time. Long story short, my problem WAS due to their earlier diagnosis of a bad capacitor. Darren, a great guy and service tech, checked my system and verified it was the capacitor. He replaced it and I have my A/C back! He was EARLY for our scheduled appointment, respected my flooring by wearing booties and recommended that I have an independent electrical inspection of my system due to the age of my electrical system and the grinding noise that always accompanies the system coming on. Go ahead and get other quotes, BUT be sure to include C&S on your list of companies to "interview!" They ARE the real deal! Thank you Darren and Katie! I appreciate it very much! I wrote the review below beginning "My first ....." a year ago and did not realize that I did not "post" it! LOLOLOL. So sorry C&S! Well, since then I have had a my first maintenance visit for this year 2026 and Mac, my tech, was fantastic! 🙂 She's (yep, "Mac" is a "she!") highly trained, super nice and ON TIME! Unfortunately, she confirmed the fact that Zac found a year ago and that is that my system has a leak. And, I need to replace the capacitor. Long story short, Mac and her fellow tech Darren have been taking very good of me and we are addressing my leak issue with a solution in the works! Thank you Mac, Darren and David (their sales manager) for the fantastic service! And thank you Katie for your great service as well! Great folks over at Carter and Sons! My first appointment with Carter and Sons HVAC. Had appt originally scheduled for Monday. My wife and I were really burning up in our condo on Friday and my wife says "see if they can come today." I called C&S and spoke to Katie who was very friendly! Unbelievably, she worked us in on Friday between 3-5. I got home from work around 3 and waited and waited. Got to be 4:25 and I get a text from Zac saying he was on his way. Zac got here right at 5. Very nice young man. We had a great chat while he worked on my unit. Turns out I just needed some refrigerant. Happy day! I am definitely happy I found C&S. I used Shumate for many years and they gave me great service, but I just felt like I wanted to try a new company. I know I found a great one! Thanks Zac and Katie for your great service, patience with all of my questions (Zac) and kind demeanor. I definitely recommend Carter & Sons!

My husband and I returned from a 10-day vacation to find that our upstairs AC wasn’t working. We learned that the HVAC company that we had used for years (Shriver) had been sold and the new company couldn’t send out a repair person for 3 days. We called Carter and Sons on the recommendation of a neighbor and they were able to send a technician the next day. Our tech, Darrin, diagnosed the problem (an unusual one) and repaired it immediately for a very reasonable charge. Darrin sent us a text when he was on the way and arrived within the promised window. He was very professional and friendly. We were so impressed with Carter and Sons that we decided to sign up for their annual maintenance plan.

Elijah was very personable and knowledgeable of the services provided. He was on time, communicated effectively and it was a pleasure having him do routine service on my HVAC system. I look forward to this company and Elijah continuing to service my system. Great job!
